Chinese passport application procedure To apply for a passport for going abroad for private purposes, a citizen must apply to the exit and entry administration department of the city or county public security bureau where his/her residence is located, answer relevant inquiries and go through the following procedures: 1. Submit the "Approval Form for Chinese Citizen's Application for Going Abroad" in duplicate and two photos (two inches in size) that are completely filled in and pasted with my recent bareheaded front photo; 2. Submit the certification materials corresponding to the reasons for exit; 3. Submit the applicant's ID card or household register for examination, and submit a copy of it. Corresponding supporting materials to be submitted by the applicant: (1) Go abroad to visit relatives and friends Letters of invitation from relatives and friends and proof of residence of the inviter in the country of destination must be submitted. 1. Invitation letter (with one of the following): (1) Formal invitation letter; (2) , ordinary letter of invitation content. 2. The residence certificate of the inviter in the country of destination (one of the following is enough). (1) Certificate of residence qualification of the inviter in the country of destination; (2) Copies of the valid identity documents being used by the inviter in the country of destination; (3) Other certificates approved by the exit and entry administration department that can prove the legal residence of the inviter in the country of destination. Returned overseas Chinese and the family members of overseas Chinese shall present the certificate of returned overseas Chinese or the family members of overseas Chinese issued by the overseas Chinese office or overseas Chinese federation in the city or county where their residence is located. Citizens over the age of 60 and those who go abroad with their parents (or guardians) under the age of 16 will only submit the opinions issued by their units or local police stations where their residence is registered, and will be exempted from the invitation letters of relatives and friends and the residence certificates of the inviter in the contact countries. (2) Individual travel abroad Proof of foreign exchange expenses required for travel (such as the applicant's bank deposit certificate) must be submitted. When the exit and entry administration department deems it necessary, the applicant should also submit an invitation or guarantee letter from overseas relatives and friends. (3) Study abroad at one's own expense The applicant must submit the admission notice issued by the accepting school. When the exit and entry administration department deems it necessary, the applicant shall also submit the necessary economic guarantee certificate. If a person with a college degree or above applies to study abroad at his own expense, he must submit the "Certificate of Qualification for Studying Abroad at His Own Expense" issued by the provincial education authority. Those who go abroad to study religious courses (including religious colleges and universities) must submit the consent certificate issued by the religious bureau at or above the provincial level. Public overseas students (including those sent by the state and the unit) must submit the completed Passport Registration Form for Public Overseas Students. (4) Go abroad and settle down It is required to submit the residence permit certificate of the proposed government authorities or embassies and consulates in China or the certificate of the proposed relatives and friends who agree to settle down. (5) Go abroad to inherit property Proof of legal inheritance must be submitted (6) Individual employment abroad The employment certificate of the employer or employer with legal effect in the destination country shall be submitted. The certificate with legal effect refers to the certificate certified by the notary office of the destination country or our embassy or consulate abroad. The labor service personnel going abroad assisted by the labor service company shall submit the applicant's labor service export certificate confirmed by the labor service export agency with the right to operate the labor service abroad. If the overseas employment service agency assists in handling the overseas employment, the employment contract signed between the applicant and the overseas employer confirmed by the overseas employment service agency with the right to operate overseas employment must be submitted. (7) Enterprise personnel go abroad due to business needs of the enterprise 1. Submit letters from foreign enterprises inviting businesses to go abroad. 2. Submit the industrial and commercial business license of the enterprise of the person to go abroad for examination, check the duplicate and receive the duplicate. 3. Submit the letters signed and issued by the legal representative of the enterprise and the opinions of the enterprise on the personnel to go abroad. When the person in charge of the enterprise goes abroad, he/she must also submit the opinions of the superior competent department on his/her going abroad. If a private enterprise or individual industrialist goes abroad and is a member of the Federation of Industry and Commerce, the municipal, county (district) association of private enterprises or individual labor association shall give their opinions. 4. Submit the invitation letter of the foreign employment contact unit. The correspondence is in a foreign language. Chinese translation is also attached. The original and two copies of such correspondence shall be submitted. One copy shall be kept by the acceptance examination and approval authority and one copy shall be kept by the review authority, and the original copy shall be returned to the applicant when the examination and approval is completed. 5. Other supporting materials required by the review and approval authority of the acceptance and approval authority. 6. The person who intends to go abroad shall fill in two copies of the Chinese Citizen Exit Application Form truthfully in person, attach a photo to the application form, and then submit another photo to make an exit certificate for use. (8) To engage in other non official activities abroad, the corresponding invitation letter from abroad shall be submitted.
