Research shows that Asia is still the primary export market for Chinese manufacturing enterprises (accounting for 73%).

At the same time, more than half of the surveyed enterprises also indicated that they planned to export their products to Western European markets, and 1/3 enterprises planned to expand their businesses to the North American market.

After a deep survey of the major export bases in China, the report shows that China's export manufacturing enterprises are under pressure on both supply and demand.

Among them, 40% of enterprises said that the rising labor cost is the biggest challenge they face. 37% of manufacturers say that their challenges come from the competition of other domestic homogeneous enterprises, and 34% of manufacturing enterprises believe that the challenges posed by the rising cost of capital are becoming increasingly severe.

After conducting a survey of manufacturing enterprises in different regions, the report shows that domestic export manufacturing enterprises perform well in terms of cognition, but their practice is relatively insufficient.

Among them, Shenzhen manufacturing enterprises outperformed other manufacturing enterprises in terms of cognition and practice. The enterprise readiness index (54 points, 100 points, 50 points of recognition and 50 points of practice) came first, while Shanghai manufacturers made 48 points, while Chengdu and Qingdao manufacturers scored 40 points and 37 points respectively.

For the release of the report, Nando saareone, President of UPS Asia Pacific region, said: "the readiness index of China's manufacturing enterprises reflects the great changes in China's economy.

In the future, if Chinese manufacturing enterprises want to gain advantage in global competition, they must adopt a customer centered development mode, based on collaboration, subdivision of industry solutions and perfect supply chain strategy.

Huang Yiping, professor and economist at the National Development Research Institute of Peking University, pointed out that with the continuous development of China's economy, manufacturing enterprises, which once relied on labor intensive and rapidly developing, are facing severe challenges and need to be pformed and upgraded.

If enterprises want to remain competitive, they must increase the added value of products and increase investment in innovation.

The enterprise readiness index (TM) provides a reference standard for business managers to help them formulate feasible development strategies.
