Shishi Exports Increased By 25.8% Over The First Half Of The Year

Data from Quanzhou customs office in Shishi show that in 1-6 months of this year, Shishi exported 4 billion 824 million yuan of textile products, an increase of 16.86% over the same period last year. Among them, the European Union, ASEAN and the United Arab Emirates are the main export markets. The total volume of exports in the three regions accounts for 50.62% of the total value of Shishi's textile exports in the same period. Statistics show that in the first half of this year, Shishi exported 971 million yuan to the European Union, an increase of 15%; ASEAN 788 million yuan, an increase of 52.35%; the United Arab Emirates 683 million yuan, an increase of 22.45%, and the export of private enterprises dominated.
From the perspective of Shishi City, Shishi's foreign trade and economic cooperation maintained steady growth in the 1-6 months of this year, and exports reached US $1 billion 182 million 300 thousand, ranking second in Quanzhou, an increase of 25.8% compared with the same period last year.
Among them, "exhibition economy" is a core content of Shishi City's foreign trade and economic cooperation. Reporters learned from relevant departments in Shishi that in the second half of this year, Shishi municipal Party committee and municipal government will focus on cultivating foreign trade leading enterprises, leading enterprises to participate in large-scale exhibitions, so that more enterprises can be included in the Ministry of Commerce and provincial government's key export support brand enterprises, further expand the foreign trade team, effectively promote the export of small and medium-sized enterprises, encourage powerful enterprises to "go out" and expand a more open new pattern of foreign trade.

It is understood that at present, Shishi's export products have been spread all over the world in 160 countries and regions. The main export commodities in the first half of the year are textiles and clothing, footwear and leather products, and textile and garment self export accounts for half of Shishi's total self export volume.
Shishi commerce bureau responsible person pointed out that although the first half of Shishi's foreign trade exports have resumed growth, but the European and American markets have not improved. Therefore, Shishi municipal Party committee and municipal government will continue to actively strive for and implement various incentive policies such as export tax rebates, SMEs developing international market funds and so on, and enhance the competitiveness and enthusiasm of export enterprises through the support of policy funds, so that enterprises can take the initiative to move towards the international market. It is reported that the Shishi business department will promptly handle the supporting foreign trade policy for the enterprises in the area, ensure that all relevant enterprises' subsidy funds are in place in the year, reduce the pressure of enterprise funds, and support the development of enterprises.
Export situation in Europe and America is still grim.
Looking at the export situation of the whole country, it is understood that in January this year, the export volume of textiles and clothing in mainland China increased by 29.02%. In February, the export volume of textile and clothing was 6 billion 300 million US dollars, an increase of 30.92%. The EU and the United States adopted measures to restrict the import of textiles from the mainland. For example, the EU import tariff on Chinese textiles and clothing increased from 9% to 12% in April 1st, which led to a decline in China's textile and clothing exports. In June this year, China's textile and apparel exports amounted to 156 billion 390 million yuan, an increase of 0.9% over the same period in 2015, of which 59 billion 370 million yuan for textile exports, 2.5% for growth, and 97 billion 20 million for clothing exports, down 0.1%.
According to the analysis of the industry, the export of domestic textile and apparel in the second half of the year is still facing greater downward pressure, and the possibility of rapid growth is relatively small. Experts suggested that, due to the introduction of some new technical barriers to trade in the European Union and the United States, it will have a greater impact on clothing, indoor textiles, yarn and weaving production enterprises. It is suggested that the inspection and quarantine departments and garment export enterprises pay more attention to the implementation of the new regulations of the European Union and the United States, grasp the detailed provisions of laws and regulations, and strengthen the testing of raw materials and finished products NPE (nonylphenol ethoxylates) content, so as to avoid the loss of products exported to the EU beyond the limit requirements. In addition, enterprises should also study the relevant laws and regulations of the United States on textile and apparel accessories and the latest requirements, strictly check the quality of raw materials, and constantly improve production processes and testing methods, to ensure that the export of textiles and clothing products in the United States are not reported or recalled for quality and safety issues.
