By 2018, it reached US $4 trillion and 600 billion and became the world's largest trading power. At the same time, the trade structure has been constantly optimized. Electromechanical products and high-tech products have become the main export entities, and private enterprises have become the main force of foreign trade. For the following key points in stabilizing foreign trade, we will work hard in implementing policies, optimizing market layout and developing quality, and will actively expand imports, vigorously develop trade in services, and foster new competitive advantages in foreign trade.

"China's foreign trade began to break through the blockade. In 1957, our country founded the Canton Fair and opened the window to the world. Since the reform and opening up, especially since joining the world trade organization, foreign trade has continued to develop rapidly. At present, China's imports and exports are more coordinated, and trade in goods and services is more coordinated, with imports exceeding US $2 trillion per year. Foreign trade has played an important role in promoting growth, expanding employment and improving people's living standards, and has directly or indirectly led to over 180 million jobs.

Zijin Mountain pointed out that since the beginning of this year, China's foreign trade faces unprecedented challenges, both external and internal. Stable foreign trade is an important part of our country's "six stability". In accordance with the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Commerce has taken various measures to make steady efforts to stabilize foreign trade and promote the high quality development of foreign trade, and has achieved positive results.

Data show that the first 8 months of this year, import and export 20 trillion and 100 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6%. From a global perspective, China's export growth is higher than the overall level of the world's major economies. The scale of foreign trade has achieved steady progress. The new business mode of foreign trade has also developed rapidly, and the retail import and export of cross-border electricity business has increased by 20%, and the mode of market purchase trade has increased by 11.2%.

For the next step in stabilizing foreign trade, Mr Xi said that the next step will be to focus on three aspects: first, work hard on policy implementation, and push forward the stable foreign trade policy as soon as possible.
