This week, France's l'assembly é e Nationale passed the "carbon score" label on products after a three-day heated debate on Amending the climate bill.

The purpose of adding "CO2 score" label to the products is to clearly inform consumers of the carbon emissions generated in the process of raw material production, product production, packaging and transportation, and urge brands and manufacturers to take measures in line with national environmental protection requirements.

The National Assembly said that the "carbon emission score" label will be first tested in the clothing and textile industry. According to a set of data released by L'Agence de la transition é cologique, the fashion industry is the second largest source of pollution in the world, with an average consumption of 2700 liters of water per T-shirt (equivalent to 70 showers) and 11000 liters of water per pair of jeans (equivalent to 285 showers).

The trial period of "carbon emission score" label is no more than five years. If the trial results show that the label is effective, it will be extended to household, hotel, electrical and other industries in the future.

In addition, the national assembly has also adopted an amendment: in the future, all textiles and clothing produced and produced in France can use the iconic "blue, white and red national flag".
